Business travel continued to show tremendous momentum in 2023 with Amex GBT reporting a 10% increase in total transaction value by Q3 2023 compared to the same period in 2022 in the small to medium business segment, and 7% in global and multi-national. 1

Customer voice and feedback

In 2023, Egencia held several major beta and pilot programmes with 100+ customers around the world covering topics such as New Distribution Capability (NDC), group travel, sustainability and travel alerts.  The aim of the programme is for customers to test out new product tools and features early and provide their feedback before general availability to all customers.

We also conducted product research for product roadmap input in product focus groups with customers covering a broad range of topics such as reporting, data, reconciliation and travel policy. Customers from 14 countries joined Egencia product managers, user experience designers and product marketing teams through 2023.

Product highlights 2023

It’s been an exciting year for customers using Egencia’s platform with new Sustainability Premium features, the launch of a completely redesigned ground transportation and guest travel experiences, and a new whitepaper that takes a peek under the hood of how Egencia drives transformation with data and artificial intelligence (AI).   

New Distribution Capability (NDC) continued to be a hot topic in 2023, with Egencia launching both Air France / KLM and American Airlines content for customers. In addition, American Express Global Business Travel (Amex GBT) led the industry in publishing a Minimum Marketable Product (MMP) framework to help airlines and industry develop robust NDC connections that meet the needs of business travellers and their companies.
