Creative event services, strategic meetings management and more consulting solutions now available to Egencia customers

London, UK – 20 July 2022Egencia, the only proven global B2B travel tech platform, today announced that its customers can now access American Express Meetings & Events (M&E) and Global Business Consulting (GBC) services following the acquisition of Egencia by American Express Global Business Travel (Amex GBT) in November 2021. Egencia’s 9,000+ customers around the world will have access to industry-leading Amex GBT services to enhance the performance of their travel and meetings programmes, which will increase ROI, reduce risk and maximise savings.

Mark Hollyhead, President of Egencia, said: ‘We are delivering on our commitment to extend the immense benefits of Amex GBT’s unrivalled value, choice and experience to Egencia’s customers. These M&E and consulting solutions will help build their travel and meeting programmes, and this is just one example of how we are converting the value that Amex GBT brings to Egencia into tangible, real-world benefits that drive results for travellers, attendees and the overall business.’

American Express Meetings & Events brings 40 years of global expertise, industry-leading technology and a diverse supplier network, managing 97,000 meetings per year in 120 markets* with meeting spend worth US$3 billion. With the backing of Amex GBT, Egencia is expanding its current Groups & Meetings (G&M) offering, meaning that customers will get access to a full suite of end-to-end solutions with flexibility to customise services to fulfil any size, format or complexity (in person, virtual or hybrid). The global M&E team supports their customers on both an individual event basis, providing creative event services such as design, production and logistics, and on a more strategic meetings management basis, delivering visibility and maximised savings to regional and global clients.

Gerardo Tejado, General Manager, American Express Meetings & Events, said: ‘Today, the true value of meetings is more profoundly and widely recognised than ever before. Within our M&E business, we are seeing in-person meetings come back quickly and expect this number to increase. Our highly configurable service, global reach and infrastructure, and innovative technologies will enable Egencia customers to take a strategic approach to their M&E programmes and, at the same time, mitigate their environmental impact.’

American Express Global Business Consulting, the travel consulting arm of Amex GBT with more than 150 strategic consultants and eight consulting practice lines, provides a broad range of services beyond traditional travel management with the aim of making business travel their client’s differentiator. Egencia customers, in addition to current Egencia Consulting services, will now benefit from an extended scope of solutions from GBC including programme strategy, commodity management and outsourced travel management.

With access to GBC’s market leading outsourced travel management solution, Egencia customers can have outsourced travel managers globally embedded in their organisations for day-to-day support to strategic guidance that helps increase value, as well as continuous programme maturity and improvement. In addition, Egencia customers will also experience programme strategy solutions to fuel their environment objectives, and benefit from GBC’s Green Compass, which is a proprietary solution that puts companies on the road to decarbonisation. These high-touch services and enhanced support capabilities can help Egencia customers scale their businesses through travel.

Julie Avenel, Vice President, American Express Global Business Consulting, said: ‘Since Egencia joined GBT, we have been working closely to better understand their specific client needs, where we can provide additional value, and how our combined data & tech development capabilities can offer the best approach to clients in every segment. Supporting Egencia customers in designing their travel strategy to optimise spend, their environment footprint, as well as traveller well-being is critical to achieving much wider business success.’
